Pakistan Pavilion opens at GITEX Global 2025 with 100 tech firms
Federal Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja leads high-profile delegation in Dubai
DUBAI – Pakistan’s Tech Destination Pavilion was officially inaugurated today at GITEX Global 2025, reinforcing the country’s growing role as a global technology hub.
The ceremony was led by Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, alongside senior government officials and industry leaders. The delegation included Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce; Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Envoy to the UAE; Hussain Muhammad, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai; and senior representatives from Ignite, the Special Investment Facilitation Council, the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), and the National Information Technology Board (NITB).
The opening drew participation from international investors, global media, and key figures from the technology industry, reflecting strong interest in Pakistan’s expanding digital ecosystem.
Pakistan Pavillion
The Pakistan Pavilion serves as a dynamic hub for B2B meetings, investment networking, partnership announcements, and start-up showcases. Visitors are offered live demos, interactive product displays, and business matchmaking opportunities designed to promote cross-border collaboration.
Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja emphasised Pakistan’s commitment to technological advancement, stating, “Pakistan’s presence at GITEX Global reflects our confidence, our capability, and our commitment to a digitally empowered future under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. With a young, skilled workforce and an expanding base of IT exports, Pakistan is ready to play a central role in shaping the global tech economy.”
Start-ups and recognition
The Ministry of IT and Telecom is facilitating the participation of 10 promising start-ups at this year’s event, offering them a platform to engage with international investors and explore global business opportunities. The initiative aligns with Pakistan’s long-term strategy to nurture innovation and accelerate start-up growth across its digital landscape.
Building on its recognition as “Tech Destination of the Year” at GITEX Global 2024, Pakistan’s presence this year is larger than ever.
More than 100 leading technology companies, including 26 supported by PSEB and TDAP, are participating in GITEX Global 2025, alongside over 1,000 C-level delegates, reflecting the country’s confidence and growing stature in the international technology arena.
